Anyway, we had a good time! We fished off the dock of the Clarion (where we stayed the night), went swimming, ate BBQ at McClard's, ordered in pizza, walked the strip, met up with my parents, and shopped. Hutch was so good the entire trip...he is such a sweet baby. He did not care for all of the loud Harley Davidson motorcycles that were cruising the strip when he was trying to nap but his startle reflex kept him from resting peacefully. Tess had a blast catching fish, but she did not like that loud "thumber" (thunder) at the science museum.

Hot Springs
Yesterday, we headed to Hot Springs for the night. Jay and I have been dying to go and see the "Our Body" exhibit at the Mid America Science Museum. It is really COOL, and a lot less smelly than those bodies we had in Gross Anatomy in OT/PT school.

Big Drainage...lil' vacation
We have had the exiting opportunity to spend all of our money on a drainage system! (hence the sarcasm in my typing) We are the proud owners of a certified, glorified, heavy duty, full fledged drainage system! The best part is....we will get to see it in action this coming week thanks to Gustav! If anyone wants to see 400 gallons of water a minute flow through our new system, come over!! Any questions about drainage, give me a call....I know way too much about it. The good thing about this is our yard will stay nice and dry. YEAH!
Doin' my exercises
Nutrition Study
Hutch is enrolled in the Arkansas Children's Hospital Nutrition Study. When Tess was born I tried to get her into this study, however, we did not meet the criteria (they have very strict rules on who gets in the study) Basically, they are studying how baby's nutrition effects body composition, brain function, body metabolism, growth, development, etc. The following pics look kinda scary, but trust me- it is a great study! We both had Psychological testing this past time- Hutch scored at or above normal range (developmental testing is what it is). They didn't tell me how I scored..hmmmm......issues. :) I actually think I aced their little test and they didn't want me to get the big head. haha! Hutch weighed 12lbs and 9 oz at this visit. This was his 3 month visit. He will be enrolled in the study for 6 years! He turned 3 months on August 28. He is growing up!
Getting ready for brain lab. He looks like a big boy in this picture!
Getting his leads all on!
This is actually a cap that fit over his head- All of the sponge leads are connected to this clear cap. They are not individually placed. He had to take a little nap in between tests. They can't go to sleep or be fussy while they are studying the brain waves.....this is almost an impossible task!

Getting in the "Pea Pod" This machine sends warm air around the baby and determines there BMI. The one for adults is called the "Bod Pod" You may have heard of it or been in one before.
playdate
We headed to Conway last week to have a play date with Noah and Ally. The kids had so much fun. They stayed up in the playroom and played cars for about 1hour without making a peep. Me and Shannon kept peaking in on them....they were so cute talking to each other and playing together. Noah and Tess get along really well- they are great buddies!
Tess and Noah playing cars!
Sweet Ally. I think her and Tess could be sisters..they look alike to me.
Tess's Wand
Well, with all of the rain we had this past week we were stuck indoors...A LOT! One day Tess wanted to make a wand....so here it is. It provided lots of entertainment and was a fun project for both of us. All you need is that cardboard piece that holds a cleaners hanger together, some ribbon, and craft foam for your star. Fun times...

Biblical Tess
Last night I was getting Hutch out of the bath and I had a baby hooded towel on him and Tess walked in the room, took one look at him and then me and said "Jesus". I said "what, Tess?" She repeated "he looks like Jesus." It was sooo funny. This morning Hutch was laying under his baby gym while I was getting ready. The next thing I knew Tess had gotten one of his baby gowns and she had wrapped it like a turban on top of his head. I said "Tess! What are you doing?" She looked at me and said "baby Moses!" Hysterical........

Hutch meets... The Rose Family
This weekend Jay's sister, Joni and her family came to meet Hutch. We were so excited to see them and spend some time catching up. Also, my nephew Pierce was in the Conway Kids Triathlon where he won 1st place!!!! Way to go Pierce!
The Natural look is out!

Man have we been busy around here! :-) In the past week, we have had our backyard cleared and have been transforming our VERY ROCKY backyard into something more functional for the Finton Fam. Our friend Andrew helped us clear our lot and he said he has never seen so many rocks!! They were everywhere...they would dig up a little dirt and find MORE rocks. Things are getting better....Jay and his dad (with the help of lil' Tesser!) have been laying sod like crazy.

And then came the dirt....
2 Months
Wow, look how big he is getting! I love that he is smiling more. He makes the cutest cooing sounds.....I just love all that baby talk! :) For the past 4 nights he has slept 6.5 hours straight- from about 8:30 to 3am takes a bottle and then sleeps to around 5:30-6:30 takes another bottle and then goes back to sleep. I am VERY excited! I hope he decides to start sleeping ALL night really soon! That would be awesome! I could just eat him up...he is so sweet.
