Trick or Treat!
We took Tess to our local nursing home tonight to trick or treat. The residents loved seeing her! We hope that one day she will grow up to help adults or children that are sick or disabled. We broke out our fork and spoon costumes to wear to the nursing home and I got a pic of us. Tess also got to go trick or treating with her best friend, Presli. They had a great time together!

Our Newest Addition!
We won a fish tonight!!! How about that...our first family pet. Our church had their annual Fall Fest party and we came home lucky handed. Jay said "what do we need to feed it?" I told him I think we need to go and buy some pet food for it....amateur pet owners. Tess has fallen literally in love with the fish. We let her hold it (in a zip-lock baggie) all the way home from the party. She hugged the bag so tight, so many times I thought we were going to have a flopping fish in our car! She said "hey fish, I love you!" I wish I would have taken pictures of her....she was even kissing the bag/the fish countless times. When she asked if we would turn the DVD player on she proceeded to place the fish (bag) in her lap and she said "fish lap, watch movie." It was hysterical!! Of course, she was traumatized when we got home and had to put the fish in a bowl (well, actually it is a flower vase) and she could no longer hug and hold the fish. Speaking of traumatized, apparently Jay and I were the only ones (out of hundreds of people) who got the memo that parents can dress up too!! We came dressed to the fest as a fork and spoon. The costumes were really cute when I bought them. After we pulled up to the party and saw that NO ONE else was dressed up besides us they became really embarrassing costumes. I mean I knew everyone wouldn't dress up but seriously, I saw no other parents in a costume!! Everyone was starring at us and smiling.....VERY embarrassing ....but character building for sure. Jay said, "well I guess everyone will know who we are now." I said "yeah, you know that couple that was dressed up like a fork and spoon!" I didn't take any pictures because I was way to embarrassed but I will post the link so you can get a visual of our costumes... http://www.buycostumes.com/Category/0/Product/31699/ProductDetail.aspx?REF=SCE-froogle I hope it gives you a good laugh! Have a great day.

State Fair!
This past week we took Tess to the state fair. It was kiddie day and man was it crowded!! Tess saw her buddy Katie Jo and they got to ride some rides together. They both were SO Big...loving the rides and wanting more. What a great day! Jay had a famous "Fried Twinkie" and I had a disgusting looking turkey leg. I said I would never eat one of those things....but I did! Not too bad I might say! I love fairs!!! I really love small town county fairs....it reminds me of my childhood and some really special memories. Okay.....family, I do miss El Do and all of it's small town charm! I'm only 10% city girl and the rest is pure country!! (Jay would laugh his head off if he read this....he NEVER believes me when I tell him this)

Halloween Party!
Tess attended her first neighborhood Halloween Party this weekend. Tess is Raggedy Anne this year! Our friends Brandy and Mary Claire hosted the cutest lil' party for the kids. They made a craft, ate cupcakes, and watched Mickey's Halloween show. Tess is such a ham! At first, she didn't want to wear her wig.....so we bribed her with some candy and ta-daaaaa she put it on! (Hey, don't judge....you do what works when your rushed for time, lol!) She even let me paint her face, while she sat very still like a big girl. We had a great day!

Tess was so excited to see her "Pop!" She couldn't get enough of him....hugging him, telling me she missed him, and following him everywhere he went. Thanks for coming up to see us! Love ya Dad!!

Say "Cheeeese!
Today, Tess wanted me to take her picture. As I was uploading the fall pics, she grabbed my camera and said "Cheeeeeese!" I asked her if she wanted me to take her picture, and she said "Yeeeessss!" So, this is a result of our mini photo shoot. She is so funny.P.S. We have been having trouble receiving all of our email messages. If you have emailed me in the last 2 weeks and I have not responded....please email me again. Thanks so much!
Fall Decorating!
Yesterday, at my bible study we had this lady came talk to us about fall and Christmas decorating. She had some great ideas! My friend Shannon suggested I share a few with you. I hope you like them and maybe you can share some of your tips with me! Okay, so below is a pic of my version of her idea. Here is what she suggested: Wash your pumpkin and spray it with clear varnish (I have never thought about washing my pumpkins...but it really makes a difference). Place it on some type of stand (she used a metal wire stand, I didn't have one of those so I used a candle stand..hers looked better). She also suggested putting a paint can under the burlap fabric (you can buy this at wal-mart to place your stand and pumpkin on) and putting your pumpkin on top of that. Tess and I went on a nature walk to find large acorns to place around our stand....but no luck (we have a plethora of squirrels around here :-{ ). She suggested adding fall leaves (when they turn), pine cones, corn, and acorns around your display. I'm going to keep looking for these things to add to mine. Anyway, I hope you can use this idea and maybe even spice it up a bit! HAPPY FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harvest Party '07!
Last night we went to our 2nd annual Harvest Party at our good friends Nick and Krysta's house. Tess had a blast! She even participated in the sack races....she has her daddy's game face on (see pic). The girls had a bake-off....they passed out ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. We had boiled corn and ate Frito chili pies! It was soooo much fun! The kids got their faces painted, looked for buried treasures in the sawdust pile, played games, and painted pumpkins. Thanks Nick and Krysta for a WONDERFUL time! On the way home last night I asked Tess "did you have fun at the party?" and she said, "I luvd da porty!" Too funny!

My Sweet Cousin....Sarah!
This past weekend we went home to visit Pop and Granny. We also got to spend some time with my sister and her family. Tess loves seeing and playing with all of her cousins. She can now call them by name (which is too cute!) Below are some pics of her and Sarah having a blast together. There is only 5 months difference between the two of them. They are so funny...hugging one minute and then fighting over toys the next.........true love. :-)
